About Supexbond

Supexbond Inc. is the result of an alliance between a dedicated wood flooring manufacturer and the first national manufacturer of moisture-cured polyurethane adhesive. Their combined expertise made them the perfect candidates to develop the revolutionary adhesive that the flooring industry was looking for. This adhesive required 3 major characteristics to be competitive. The adhesive must create a moisture barrier between the sub-floor and the wood flooring; it must also create a sound-proofing membrane automatically. Finally, the product had to be an excellent adhesive with high elasticity to permit high-tensile bonding while allowing the flooring to move against the sub-floor, in consideration of the fact that wood is a living matter and the sub-floor, usually cement, is not.

After a period of in-house and field testing, SupexBond 2X Supex was created. This is a 2-part adhesive (the catalyst for the binding reaction is separated from the main ingredients until application) that is easy to mix (directly on the working surface), has very high spreadability and excellent coverage per working unit (22 to 25 sq ft per 2 litres of product). In field testing the product achieved excellent results in water penetration prevention as well as sound deadening properties.

Since then, through research and innovation, Supexbond Inc. developed a wide selection of adhesive products that are made to satisfy the needs of today’s flooring industry.
